Closing for the Summer

The decision has been made, and we will be closing for the summer. The construction has affected traffic, to the point where we think, it makes the most  sense to shut down, ride out this phase of construction, and re-open in September. The exact date of re-opening is still a bit up in the air, but likely the beginning of September, when phase two of construction is due to be finished. We didn’t make this decision lightly, and I have a feeling, if Kevin O’Leary had anything to say about it, he’d let us know the error of our ways, but for us, we feel this is the right decision. To clarify, we are NOT going of business, this is merely what we feel is best for us at this time!

We will be using this time to work on some new ideas for Rumbletum, the biggest being, working out a breakfast menu. Our goal will be to open earlier, have a small & tasty breakfast menu, continue with our lunch menu and close at 3:00 or 4:00 pm. We’ve discussed doing breakfast for a few years already, but having to drive our kids to school daily prevented us from seriously entertaining the idea. Well, the kids have grown up, and begun to spread their wings. They’ve gotten licences and all that grown up stuff, so come September, we can finally fulfill the vision we’ve had, without guilt, or too much family disruption. Exciting and a little scary for us.

  1. I’m sad to hear that the construction has made it nearly impossible to remain open for the remainder of the summer. But we’re so glad to know that you anticipate bei g able to reopen in September and wr look forward to visiting then and trying your new breakfast menu. After our family’s failed attempt to make it there last week ( after braving a 30 minute detour only to be turned around by construction crews) I was worried and wondered how you would manage through the construction. While we will miss one of our favourite places, I applaud your decision to close for the interim. Good luck and see you in the fall:)

  2. Hey guys! Sorry to hear about this; we were worried for you, but are so glad to know that you’ll be back! We’ll be back too! See you in September! (Maybe you’ll get some well-deserved rest???)
